Hello!

I’m Adira, a multidisciplinary design researcher and
social innovator. I work across fields of education, ecology and social impact to create systems and tools that promote behavioural well-being.

I have a multidisciplinary background in design research, social innovation and visual communication. With a specialisation in co-design and citizen engagement, I lead a range of mixed-method research projects, from participatory and creative research approaches to community-led social innovation. I have a strong application of collaborative design methodologies in my process, and have worked across the areas of education, ecology and social impact to create systems and tools that promote behavioural wellbeing. I have lived and worked in India, Japan, Singapore and the UK, gaining experience of designing for different languages and cultural contexts.

My early career experience began with ornithologists and social scientists at the Nature Conservation Foundation in India, where I created nature education tools and scientific illustrations for outreach programmes. I have since led design research projects with organisations including Nesta, Art Fund, University of Cambridge, and the Mayor of London’s Culture and Community Spaces at Risk Division.

I currently work as a Senior Researcher at The Young Foundation, the UK’s home for community research and social innovation. Prior to this, I completed my MA+MSc in Global Innovation Design at the Royal College of Art and Imperial College London.
